Essential clove oil is obtained through steam distillation of dried flower buds from clove trees. It has a warming effect on the skin and has long been used in Ayurvedic healing methods. It is well suited for listless people because it gives a sense of security and satisfaction. Clove oil helps to clear the air and creates a classic holiday scent when combined with cinnamon, ginger and citrus oils. It generally blends well with spice and citrus oils.

Blending suggestions:

Clove essential oil blends well with basil, bergamot, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, lavandin, lavender, lemon, marjoram, orange, peppermint, rosemary, sandalwood and ylang ylang.

Caution:

A component of this oil, eugenol, is irritating to the skin. Do not use undiluted on the skin.
